Don’t Wait for a Restructure to Reinvent Yourself

In a world of AI, automation, and restructures, your job could disappear.
Harsh? Maybe. True? Definitely.

Your job might go however here’s how to make sure you don’t disappear.

There is some good news in this: if you’re paying attention now, you can be ready before the next wave of change hits.

Careers today don’t follow a neat line up the ladder like they used to. They move in cycles around growth, stability, decline. The key for you is staying ahead?

Knowing where you are in the cycle and planning your next move before you’re forced into a change you were not expecting.

Here’s how to build your readiness for career transition – before you need it:

👥 Your network isn’t just for job hunting
Your network is your early warning system. Build it while your career is stable – both inside and outside your industry. Stay in touch with past colleagues. Share your wins. When someone says, “Do you know anyone who can…?” you want your name to be front of mind for everyone.

🧠 You are not your job title
Your title might vanish. Your company might fold. And things can get a bit scary. Remind yourself of what lasts? Your skills, strengths, and your impact. Get clear on what you’re good at, what results have been achieved and who benefits from it. This is your professional identity. It’s unique to you. Own it. Speak it. Show it in your résumé, your LinkedIn, your conversations. Every day.

📚 Learn for tomorrow, not just today
It’s easy to get caught in the day-to-day busyness of work and home, however, my coaching for you is, if you’re not learning, you’re marking time. Read. Upskill. Join a conversation outside your usual bubble. Growth now = less panic later.

🛤 Embrace the transitions
The messy middle – between roles or after a redundancy – isn’t failure. It’s where reinvention begins. When you have done the work to build a solid foundation, you won’t stay stuck for long.

So…..start now. Build the habits, relationships, and identity that will carry you forward, no matter what changes around you.

If you’re navigating change or preparing for what’s next, I’d love to help you do it with clarity, confidence, and leadership intelligence. Let’s connect. xx
